Brujeria and Immolation’s “Deathfest: The Second Coming” Headline tour with Fukpig, Dawn of Chaos and Volition

Damnation Festival Presents “Deathfest: The Second Coming”. Brujeria and Immolation will headline the event. Supporting metal acts such Fukpig, Dawn of Chaos and Volition will be joining the event.

Deathfest director Gavin McInally said: “It’s a great double coup landing both Brujeria and Immolation to headline our second Deathfest and we’re sure they’ll provide a suitable soundtrack to the chaos which will undoubtedly unfold in Leeds this May.

“Putting festival tickets on sale for less than most gigs is a first class lesson in financial suicide, but it’s important that money, or the lack of it, isn’t a reason to stop fans getting along to Deathfest and if we can pack the venue again, it’ll be a gamble worth taking.

“Similar to last year, we’ll have a main stage, again sponsored by Terrorizer magazine, which will be dominated by death metal from home and abroad.

“And to break the tempo up and offer a little diversity over the course of the day, we’ll have a selection of doom, black, grind and filthy noise on the second PHD Stage.

“So grab a ticket while they’re dirt cheap, grab a hotel room while they’re dirt cheap and come along for a first class day of extreme metal!”

Tor dates:
  • May 2, 2010 – Leeds University Union in Leeds, United Kingdom
Tickets are on sale now priced at £10 until 9am, Monday 1st February, and £19.50 thereafter, from

Decapitated’s “Australian Tour 2010″ with Psycroptic, Origin and Misery Index

Decapitated, Psycroptic, Origin & Misery Index will be on Massive Australian Tour 2010 in April. The tour starts on April 1st to 6th. Decapitated are back! Bands like Decapitated don’t come along very often, having created a vicious, precise and innovative form of death metal since their inception in 1996. Soundworks Touring are extremely pleased to announce their first shows back, in Australia and New Zealand, to deliver to us all their distinctive brand of technically flawless death metal.

Wacek “Vogg” Kieltyka, guitarist & founding member of the Polish death metal band Decapitated, has issued the following statement:

“It’s time to come back!  After a two-year break, Decapitated is coming back with new members.  The official new line-up for Decapitated will be announced at the end of December. “As you all know, the decision to continue the band was really, really hard for me, but everything I do now is to keep Decapitated alive. [Vocalist] Covan’s situation has not improved much and he is still in bed and unable to function on his own. He still fights to recover as we speak and we are all still 100% behind him and hope for the best.  It has been the hardest thing for me to move on without [brother & drummer] Vitek by my side, but he would have wanted me to continue with the band. “Finally, I have found some great musicians who can continue the work of Vitek and Covan. At the beginning of April, Decapitated will start to play our first reunion shows.  We will visit the biggest cities in Australia and play some of the biggest summer festivals in Europe.  Don’t worry, we won’t forget about the U.K.!  After this, the band will concentrate on the making of a new album!  I would like to thank all the people who have supported us all this time.”

Psycroptic are technical death metal done the Australian way. Having toured heavily through Europe and the USA over the past 18 months in support of their Nuclear Blast release Ob(servant), Psycroptic perform their first Australian shows in close to a year to remind us all of their clinical, razor sharp delivery of some the most punishing, intricate extreme metal on the planet.

Origin are one of the most intense and technical of the contemporary death metal bands. These guys are embark on their first pulverising trip to Australia to stake their claim as the leaders of metal’s new wave of extremity and deliver a sonic barrage of inhuman proportions. Prepare your face for battle.

Misery Index sets no limits in their goal of making metal and grind flow together in boundless punishing assaults designed to modernize the classic death and grind metal of the early 90’s. Creating an insane mix of regressive thrashing rhythms, corrupting breakdowns and energetic ferocity Index will make damn sure their first shows in Australia leave a blasting impression.

Tour dates:
  • April 1st – Transmission Room, Auckland, Lic/AA
  • April 2nd  – The Esplanade Hotel, Melbourne, 18+
  • April 3rd  – The Gaelic Club, Sydney, 18+

Living Sacrifice and War Of Ages “The Abominable Snowtour” 2010 with Shai Hulud, Lionheart and The Great Commission

Metal legends Living Sacrifice have announced a US co-headlining tour, dubbed The Abominable Snowtour, that will crisscross the nation from February 5th – 28th. The band will share top billing throughout the tour with metal cohorts War of Ages, with support from Shai Hulud, Lionheart, and The Great Commission.
“We are really excited to get out and play some of the new stuff live,” says Living Sacrifice frontman Bruce Fitzhugh. “We’re also stoked on the other bands on the tour. I’ve been a fan of Shai Hulud for years, and we have become close with the War Of Ages guys over the last few years, playing together at festivals. We’re just really glad to be able to do this.”

The tour comes on the heels of the release of The Infinite Order, in stores January 26th on SolidState Records. The album – the band’s seventh full-length overall, and first since 2002’s Conceived In Fire – is shaping up to be one of 2010’s most hotly anticipated metal releases.

The Infinite Order finds the band returning to its thrash roots for an unapologetic reminder of how unrelenting, honest metal is done at a time when some folks could use a reminder.

Living Sacrifice have opened the gates for album pre-orders, with several options available, including added value such as DVDs and t-shirts. Options can be viewed at this location.

Slayer and Megadeth “American Carnage” 2010 Headline Tour with Testament

What was supposed to be metal heaven in the form of tour of Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Metallica sadly never happened. But like the mythological creatures many metalheads love so much, half of that ferocious foursome, Megadeth and Slayer, are rising from the ashes of crushed dreams and kicking off the “American Carnage” tour in 2010.

The tour kicks off January 18th in Seattle, WA, hits up 26 cities and ends triumphantly in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This is the first time since 1991’s “Clash of the Titans” tour that the metal giants have toured together in the States. They previously laid waste to western Canada in June and Australia back in October. Joining the group as a special guest is mainstays Testament, which also hasn’t played with the two acts in nearly 20 years.
Megadeth is touring in support of 2009’s Endgame, their back-to-basics approach that was released in September. Slayer is going strong after their 10th studio effort, World Painted Blood, the band’s first since 2006’s controversial Christ Illusion. This tour also comes  the same day as the band canceled a planned European tour. Testament will release Testament’s The Formation of Damnation: Special Tour Edition, which features unreleased bonus tracks, on February 23rd, 2010.

Tickets go on sale November 20th at Ticketmaster.com. Ticketmaster is also opening up a special pre-sale offer from November 18th at 10 a.m. until November 19th at 10 p.m. “In recognition of the tough economic times that many of their fans are having,” Megadeth and Slayer have decided to roll back the price of a chunk of tickets at every U.S. show to the “1991 price” of $10.00.  These specially-priced tickets will be available in limited quantity.

Epica “Design Your Universe” 2010 Headline Tour with Daath and Blackguard

Mark Jansen, guitarist & songwriter for Holland’s symphonic metal band Epica, checks in with a new album update plus a headlining North American 2010 tour announcement:

“It’s been a great time at Gate Studio in Wolfsburg [Germany] recording Design Your Universe. We worked with the same team [producer Sascha Paeth] and we worked for the first time together with our new guitar player Isaac Delahaye [formerly of God Dethroned]. This made a difference and made things very refreshing because we could add some new elements because of him. We have worked harder than ever on the details. We preferred to spend some extra money on great additions which brings our songs to a higher level instead of leaving things like they are. The result is that we worked so hard on this album that we hardly can listen to the album anymore. Now it’s time to let it go and release it to humanity. We were already very happy with The Divine Conspiracy but I’m sure this new album tops that one.

“The album title, Design Your Universe, deals with new breakthroughs in quantum physics. It proves that we are all connected to each other on subatomic level. Also, it shows that we can create or at least influence matter with our thoughts… a very interesting fact. Because it changes everything for us, our whole worldview collapses once you accept these facts and integrate them in your lives. So this had to become the new album title. “We’ll be headlining a North American tour in 2010 featuring Daath and Blackguard. I can’t wait for this tour as it’s a strong package!”

About the band’s new material, Epica singer Simone Simons has previously stated, “It is so exciting! I love the new songs and can’t wait to play them live.”

Exclusive pre-sale tickets for the tour are available online beginning July 20th at www.EnterTheVault.com through August 19th. On August 20th, tickets go on sale through all normal ticketing outlets.

Merging unparalleled musical bravery, prodigious musicianship, flawless execution and an angular landscape of forward thinking ideas, Between the Buried and Me reinvent the rock ‘n roll idiom while pleasing their harshest critics: themselves. Joining metal’s dexterity and progressive rock’s forward-looking action, BTBAM create spine-tingling sound that contains visceral power, labyrinthine arrangement, mind-boggling melody and majestic beauty. Since its inception, the band has proven itself as a progressive rock pacesetter whose modernist clang pegs it as a paradigm to be followed and a yardstick by which other bands are measured.
